Questions founders ask.

About the price, who Frac is for, how your books get kept, and what your AI assistant can do in them.

Pricing

Is Frac really free?

Yes. Every feature, every bank feed and every report is free, for every company you run. There’s no card to enter, no seat count and no trial that runs out.

Will it stay free?

Frac is free today, with nothing held back. We haven’t decided whether a paid plan comes later. If one does, you’ll hear it from us before anything changes for your company.

Is there a catch?

No. We built Frac to keep our own startup’s books and opened it to other startups. We don’t sell your data, and Frac shows no ads.

Who it’s for

Who is Frac for?

Venture-backed SaaS startups: a Delaware C-corp with one to three founders, no bookkeeper, and a bank account at Brex, Meow or Wise. If you run a shop, an agency or a restaurant, Frac isn’t built for you: there’s no inventory, point of sale or invoicing.

Do I still need a bookkeeper or an accountant?

Not to keep the books: Frac books every line by rules and asks you about the rest. You’ll still want a tax preparer at year end. Frac doesn’t file taxes, but it bundles the year’s statements and general ledger for your preparer in one click.

Does it work for LLCs or S-corps?

Frac is built for Delaware C-corps. The chart of accounts, the equity accounts and the Delaware fees all assume one, and each company’s books stand alone rather than being combined with others.

Does Frac run payroll, pay bills or send invoices?

No. It books the payroll, bills and customer payments that move through your bank, from Gusto, Rippling or Deel included, but it doesn’t run them.

Is there a mobile app?

No. Frac runs in the browser, and you can install it from there to your dock or home screen.

Banks and the books

Which banks does Frac connect to?

Brex (checking and card, pending card charges included), Meow (business checking) and Wise Business (every currency balance). You connect each one by pasting an API key from the bank into Frac. Mercury, a CSV statement upload for any other bank, and one-click bank connect are coming soon.

How often do the bank feeds sync?

Twice a day, and whenever you press Sync. The first sync pulls each account’s full history.

Does Frac use AI to categorize transactions?

No. Frac runs no AI. A transaction is categorized by, in order: the rules you’ve taught it, what the bank marks, your team’s names, and a table of hundreds of startup vendors. Anything left waits for you, and your one click becomes a rule. The same transaction gets the same category every time.

Is it cash or accrual accounting?

Cash basis. Frac books money when it moves through your bank. It doesn’t do revenue recognition or deferred revenue.

How are SAFEs booked?

As equity, in SAFE Notes, at the amount received. When a SAFE converts, you record the conversion with a journal entry.

Does Frac connect to Stripe?

Not today. Stripe payouts arrive as bank deposits and are booked to Subscription Revenue, but Frac doesn’t read Stripe itself, so it has no MRR or ARR.

Can I bring my existing books, or start mid-year?

You can start any time: the first sync pulls your banks’ full history, and opening balances go in through a journal entry. Importing from QuickBooks or a previous bookkeeper isn’t built.

Can my co-founder use it too?

Yes. Invite them as an owner or a member, and they join when they sign in. Owners can connect banks and close the books. One person can run several companies and switch between them.

AI assistants

What does AI-ready mean?

Your AI assistant can work in your books as fully as you can. Frac is an MCP server with 31 tools, so Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor can read every report, categorize and split transactions, match transfers, add entries, attach receipts and, for owners, close the books, under the same rules as the app. Frac itself runs no AI, so a number never changes because a model guessed.

How do I connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor?

Frac is an MCP server. Add https://my.usefrac.app/api/mcp as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor, sign in, pick the company, and choose read-only or read and write. You can disconnect it from Frac at any time.

What can my AI assistant do in my books?

Read every report and ledger, search transactions, categorize and split them, match transfers, add transactions and journal entries, attach receipts and sync the banks. If you’re an owner, it can also close the books. It follows the same rules as the app, so it can’t change a closed period.

Does Frac send my books to an AI?

No. Frac calls no model. The only AI that sees your books is one you connect yourself, with the access you chose.

Security and data

Is my data safe?

Each company’s books are kept apart by the database itself, with row-level security. Bank credentials are encrypted at rest, the database is backed up nightly, and sessions end after 7 days. Frac isn’t SOC 2 certified.

How do I delete my company’s data?

Email m@emptyspaces.ai from an owner’s address and we’ll delete the company’s books. Self-serve deletion isn’t built yet.

Start your books today. It’s free.
